Port de Soller

The resort of Port de Soller is located on Mallorca's north-west coast, 22 miles north of Palma and 27 miles north of the airport. The town of Soller is some two and a half miles inland.

The valley and its surrounding mountain range, the 'Sierra de Traumantana', is a favourite destination for more mature visitors who enjoy walking, nature, ecotourism, swimming or simply being far from the hustle and bustle of the better-known tourist traps.

This coastal resort has an impressive mountainous backdrop offering stunning views, and the horseshoe-shaped bay has two headlands, each with a small beach and a lighthouse. The port and marina house a range of shops and restaurants offering local and international cuisine, as well as fast food.

The town itself, accessible both by road and tram, has narrow sloping streets surrounded by eighteenth- and nineteenth-century stone houses. All streets lead to the main square, Placa Constitucio, which houses several cafes. The square is dominated by the church of Sant Bartomeu.

The nightlife in the resort consists of one or two music bars and a disco, as well as music laid on by hotels.
