Cala D'OrCala D'or is located on the southeast coast of Majorca 40 miles from Palma and the airport. Spread over 4 kilometres and comprising 7 fine sandy beaches of varying sizes fringed by pine trees and set in deep rocky coves which shelter them from the sea. The largest beach, Cala Gran, is only 90 metres deep and 35 metres wide and nearby you will find Cala D'or's largest selection of shops. Overcrowding can be a problem on the beaches in high season.
The resort still maintains more of a village feel with very few high rise buildings and mainly low-rise white buildings and narrow streets.
Cala D'or may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties due to the hilly terrain. Most beaches have shallow waters and are accessed down a hill or steps and each has its own array of local amenities including cafes etc. Sunbeds and parasols are generally available on all but the smallest beaches.
Cala D'or is generally considered to be more chic and upmarket than many other Mallorcan resorts.
